Our Heart Strong leadership team doesn’t just believe in resilience — we’ve lived it. Every insight, every program, every initiative comes from personal experience with loss, growth, and transformation. We lead from the heart, because that’s where real change begins.
What began as a way to support families like mine has grown into something far greater: a call to all of us to live and lead with courage.
Heart Strong is that call.
It’s a movement rooted in the belief that adversity can expand us, not define us—that the strength forged in hardship is the same strength the world needs in leadership, community, and everyday life.
As we step into this next chapter, my vision is simple: to build a world lifted by the courageous. One where people harness challenge, lead with heart, and make their lives count.

At the Ethan Lindberg Foundation, our mission is simple but bold: build a Heart Strong world—one that grows strength from the inside out.
We believe that challenge is a shared human experience, and that resilience, when nurtured, can ripple outward to change families, communities, and culture itself. That’s why we’re here—to equip people to grow through challenge and live with purpose and impact.
Our lived experience is what fuels this mission. Between the two of us, we’ve raised three sons with complex medical needs, spent years navigating hospitals and hard decisions, and learned firsthand what it means to keep showing up when life doesn’t go as planned.
This work began in those personal valleys—but it’s grown into something far larger. Today, we’re building strength from the inside out through three pathways:
Families carrying heavy loads,
Youth learning resilience through sport,
And YOU, anyone choosing to live Heart Strong in your own story.
Because when parents thrive, families thrive. When youth learn to persevere, communities grow stronger. And when each of us chooses strength, the world changes.
